PikiTalk

More talk, less theatre

A lively after-work event that delves deep into important and evocative regional phenomena, PikiTalk is a different way to start the weekend.

Organised once a month in the autumn, PikiTalk boldly tackles tough issues with themes drawn from the repertoire of the Oulu Theatre. We invite to the event the most interesting in-depth experts in their fields. All Oulu residents are welcome to listen and participate in the discussion.

The themes in the autumn of 2024 revolve around the big questions in life: the difficulty of finding love during the Tinder era, the building blocks of a good daily life, what it means to be a woman and intergenerational baggage, as well as empathy in politics. The topics have been inspired by productions of the Oulu Theatre: The Reddest Rose Unfolds, Shadows in Paradise, Ainoa kotini (My Only Home) and A Christmas Carol.

The evening is hosted by Mikko Salmi, City of Oulu Director of Communications, Events and Marketing, Anu-Maarit Moilanen, the Chief Executive Officer of Oulu Theatre, and comic artist Lauri Ahtinen. The PikiTalks are streamed on the My Oulu website.

The doors of Pikisali and the bar are opened at 16:00, the discussions starts at 17:00 and the event ends at 19:00. The audience will also be entertained during the evening by several DJs, and the bistro has food and drink specials.

Pikisalista ei voi varata paikkoja myöhemmin saapuvalle seurueelle, sisään pääsee 160 ensimmäistä.

Welcome to join the PikiTalks!
