Still Life – Before and After
Stage of Diversity production for 2025
Look, participate and leave a mark
Human life is a set of still lifes. The relationship between random objects and the living. The artwork is inspired by the glimpse into the moment captured in a still life, but also by whatever exists outside the frame. What has the life surrounding a still life been like and what will it become?
Our role in the still lifes is to observe and to experience. To do and to make a difference.
To look: at a picture of a still life painting.
A still life is a carefully framed picture, a knowingly chosen object and a composition eliminated from its surroundings. A tangible moment is preserved into a painting, becoming something timeless.
To participate: a party. An interpretation of the painting.
A party interprets the world inside the painting. People taste different dishes, smell the air and touch the objects around them. Perhaps they’ll have a conversation and share of moment of wonder.
To leave a mark.
The initial composition is changed as the party commences. The participants leave their mark; a new still life is framed.
How to take part?
